With proven success rates of over 99% and no need for traditional collagen membranes, Alloplastic materials are a significant step forward for both clinicians and patients undergoing bone grafting procedures. A mixture of B-TCP and Calcium Sulphate, the material offers a wide range of benefits.
During this event, Dr Anthony Rizk discussed working with Ethoss and how it optimises host healing with a particular focus on simple surgical techniques and mindset needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
These concepts originate from medical fields where there is extensive research in the importance of returning the host tissue back to its original state.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the concept of "True Host Bone Regeneration" through an overview of relevant research findings and personal experiences.
- Evaluate different graft materials to effectively choose the most suitable option for specific clinical scenarios.
- Explain the rationale behind removing the traditional collagen membrane in these types of bone regeneration procedures.
- Apply knowledge of alloplastic materials to address a diverse range of clinical situations.
- Analyse long-term case studies presented by the speaker to gain insights into the efficacy and challenges of utilising alloplastic materials for bone regeneration.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will be able to articulate the principles and significance of "True Host Bone Regeneration" based on research evidence and shared experiences.
- Upon completion, learners will be equipped to assess graft materials and make informed decisions regarding their selection in clinical practice.
- By the end of the presentation, attendees will understand how the removal of traditional collagen membranes is warranted in bone regeneration procedures.
- Participants will demonstrate the ability to apply alloplastic materials effectively across different clinical scenarios, showcasing comprehension and application of the presented concepts.
- After reviewing the long-term case studies, learners will be able to critically evaluate the outcomes and lessons learned, integrating this knowledge into their own clinical practice for enhanced patient care.
